Can somebody please help me with the English?

The regulation of X in these countries demonstrates some degree of contrast in term of Y and Z.

It's OK, but I find the underlined part a bit weak, vague and wishy-washy. I do know, of course, that sometimes we want to write that way about certain matters.

Suppose there is a product and we will call it "X". This regulations regarding this product are different to an extent compared to the products Y and Z.

Yes, but it was the phrases 'some degree of contrast' and 'in terms of' that I was reacting to.
