Vocabulary

somber colors .... sad colors or just not colorful ?

Hello everyone~!

I don't quite understand the meaning of the word 'somber' in relation to the colors.

When the word 'somber' is used in relation to the colors, what kind of nuance or feeling does it have?

What I mean is whether the somber color gives a feeling/at

mosphere of gloominess or sadness?

Or does it have nothing to do with those sad feelings?

On the website, I found a photo of red tulips under the titled with "somber colors" ....so

I'm confused with the accurate meaning of the word which seems to be far different from the red or such kind of bright colors.

Anybody who would help me will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
