sold potatoes

Hi! I'm currently struggling with a problem. In case you want to indicate that something was sold, can you for example say:"These are sold potatoes."?

It's not incorrect, but more natural is eg These potatoes have been sold. Clive

Sold only works as a complement (The potatoes are sold.) or, in a reduced clause, as a postmodifier (These potatoes, sold yesterday, are ready for shipment.)

It's odd that "unsold," the opposite, can be used as a premodifier.
The unsold items from yesterday's sale are on the bargain table.
