That isn't much to go on. It might mean that he convinced others that he was feeling rage when he was only acting. Where did you see this?

I think it's one of those situations where "you had to be there". I don't follow this series, so I have no idea what was intended or how exactly in fit in with the plot.

to sell can mean to convince, even to convince someone of something untrue.

to sell someone on an idea is to win them over, to make them believe in your idea.

The other side of it is, of course, to buy. to buy can mean to be convinced (of something).

If you try to persuade someone of something, you are trying to sell them on it. They may buy it (believe it, be persuaded) or they may not buy it (not believe it, not be persuaded).

Following this line of thought, I sold my rage may mean I persuaded (someone) that I was angry, I made (someone) believe that I was angry. This would mean that the anger was only feigned anger.

On the other hand, you might reason that selling is in some way getting rid of something. Maybe the speaker did something that removed some anger that he had had earlier and he also benefited in some way, just as a seller would end up with the money paid for whatever he sold.
