Soft laughter?

Hello,

How do you call it when you say something, and the one listening to you reacts with a short breath and smiling? The interjection, I think, it's "hah" or "heh"

Is it called a soft laughter? A short laughter? Does it have a name?

Thanks!

This is should be "what do you call it". Using the word "how" is unnatural and a common mistake by English learners.

Thanks.

By the way, I've searched the word chuckle http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/chuckle?showCookiePolicy=true,
The word "chuckle" does not necessarily mean (partly) suppressed laughter, right?

Thanks.
