Internet social sites are seen as a social/socializing revolution.

Do both of the words in bold fit in the above and mean about the same? Thanks.

But does "socializing revolution" sound right and make sense to you if it stands alone? My magazine uses it as subtitle, and I can't pinpoint its meaning.

Your version sounds excellent to me, but I still don't see why the base sentence with "socializing" is wrong.
