Hi, Often, these can be interchanged. I don't rcall seeing the term 'case worker' used for anything except social work. However, I don't think a social worker necessarily has to be a case worker.

However, I don't think a social worker necessarily has to be a case worker. For example, a social worker might have a job trying to design the delivery of social services. This would not be case work.

Sometimes they are the same but not necessarily. Social workers have a specific qualification; it is a profession. A Case worker could be anyone who has a 'case' assigned to them. A social worker may be a person's case worker. They might not be anyone's case worker. A case worker might not be a social worker.
