Social media networks in offices

Here is my repost. Please review it.

Nowadays, many offices apply strict rules on workers, some of them even forbid their employees from using social media networks and websites such as Facebook. There are discussions appeared on whether managers should trust employees to use time wisely or it is smart for some companies to block access to some sites. In my perspective, I believed that blocking access to some sites can be seen as an effective way to preserve profits work efficiency.

Using time wisely and accessing to social media networks during office hours could be considered as a threat to the whole company. Those websites can stop their workers from finishing assignments and starting personal conversations. It may reduce effective hours in the working environment and disturb other workers doing on processes. The drawbacks of being neglected can lead to negative feedback from customers, deadline lateness and profit decreasing. Using internet to entertain could cause an extensive loss of money in paying electricity bills as well as device and network maintenance since they are initially invested for working purposes.

Moreover, social media networks are proved to be addictive as there are surveys and research present negative effects of using them for a long time. They could only pay attention on those networks and show unfriendly behaviors to customers since they are disturbed from their enjoyment. Workers should be healthy people who has the ability to create profits and achievements for the company. Accessing to those sites becomes dangerous when they are the only motivation of workers at office when it must be customers and profits.

In conclusion, blocking access to social media networks is the best solutions to improve the working efficiency in workplace. It is completely necessary for companies to have limitation on using time and surfing internet for personal intention.
