Soap lather and soap foam

Hi

I tried to look the following words up in some dictionaries but ....

Are these the same?

Soap lather and Soap foam

Thanks,

Tom

PS: What about "Soap suds"?

Top answer

I've never heard 'soap foam'. 'Soap lather' is what you get when you rub a bar of soap in your hands or a barber whisks shaving soap in a mug. 'Soap suds' are what laundry soap produces in a washing machine or liquid dish soap produces when agitated in the kitchen sink.
