Soap for washing face

Hello there. I have a question.

Regarding the following sentence:

Is this soap for washing face?

I found this sentence in a study guide which was apparently written by a nonnative teacher. I don't think it is correct because I think some determiner (eg. your) is necessary before the noun face. Is that right? Or is it unnecessary in a case like this for some reason?

Apparently. A native speaker in the US would have written

Is this face soap?
