Hi

Unfortunately due to family, church, and work obligations their "together" moments were sporadic, so what little time they could muster to catch up on girl talk was sacred.

--- I'm not sure I understand the part in bold?

They didn't have much time together... so = therefore what little time they could muster = the small amount of time they could find to catch up on girl talk = to tell each other the latest news and girly gossip was sacred = was very precious to them
