Hi,

When so we use this phrase "so to speak"?

When we say this, we are acknowledging that the words we are speaking are unusual, and/or not exactly what we mean. They usually are positioned after the words in question. Examples:

You are an insufferable moron, so to speak.

Hello! Can anyone could explain this for me?
Paul Simon a famous American singer/songwriter has been on the Uncle Floyd Show in 1982 i suppose. and in the end of an interview he told Uncle Floyd:

"Congratulations to You. Now that your show is all over the country or so to speak?"

It was a kind of joke made by Paul cause there were a few laughs after that.
