Grammar

so much....as?

Hi! everyone.
Could you tell me which of the sentences below are grammatically and naturally correct?
I am so much related to Brazil as having some collegues there.
I am connected to Brazil to the extent that I have some mere collegues there and nothing more than that.
By the above sentences I want to mean that I have some unimportant collegues in Brazil and have nothing to do with Brazil more than that.
So what is the natural way of saying it?
Thanks!

silak12 By the above sentences I want to mean that I have some unimportant collegues in Brazil and have nothing to do with Brazil more than that. Those are not very effective—and 'unimportant' or 'mere' colleagues is both rude and oxymoronic. My only connection to Brazil is that I have a few colleagues there.

Thanks! sir.
I am connected to Brazil as much as I have a few collegues there.(Is this correct?)
Could you kindly give me one more substitute for the sentence above, actually I want to use something like "so much ..as or any other phrase" if there is any possible?
