So much the worse .or so much the better?

Hello every body.

Gazing at him , I sensed that I can open up.So much the worse .or so much the better?

What does it mean?Does it mean if I open up things aren't going to be worse if they are not going to become better?

or so much the better? This has capitalisation and spacing errors, so as to raise doubts in my mind about what actually was written. Also the tenses "sensed" and "can" don't match.
