So much , at such and so as to

Could someone tell me what they think about this?

1 It made me curious so much Emotion: football that I went snooping around for clues.
2 He took the bend as fast as to induce a skid. /He took the bend fast enough to induce a skid.
3 He took the bend at such as speed as to induce a skid./so as to induce a skid.

I've heard the structure "as ___ as to" but can it only be used in a neegative statement?

He's as smart as to...
He's not as smart as to...
