Hello!

Do parents ever request professors to give more credits to their children in the university or collage in the USA or in the UK? If so, what would be the approppriate sentence that parents might say?

For example, is the following acceptable?

Dear Professor Stephen Hawking,

would you be so kind as to give my son extra credit?

If it happens, it is extremely rare. While it is not forbidden, culturally here it is considered something that is not done. Generally speaking, the parents would be regarded as meddling, and the students would be very embarrassed.
