So if you haven't been at work, what...

A guy hasn't been able to find and get in contact with his friend for a week. When he finally does, the friend tells him...

Friend: I quit my job.

Guy: You quit your job?

Friend: (explains why he quit) ...so, yeah, I quit.

Guy: So if you haven't been at work, what have you been doing for the last week?

1) Is 'at work' correct and natural here?

2) Does the whole bold-face line seem natural to you?

Thanks.
