So far’s or is

Hi,

“Analysing what we’ve done so far’s quite overwhelming.”

”Analysing what we’ve done so far is quite overwhelming.”

Can ‘is’ be abbreviated like this when it follows ‘so far’? I’m only asking because ‘so far’s’ looks a bit strange.

Thank you.

Ann225 ‘so far’s’ looks a bit strange. You can say that again. It would be just about possible in dialogue, but even then it would call attention to itself.
