So far

Hello everyone,

As far as I know, we don't use "so far" with statements in the present perfect tense. Buy I got a sentence in a text book and I'm not sure whether it is correct and the sentence is:

- He's got the highest number of points of anyone in the team so far this year.

Could you tell if it is correct, please?

As this sentence:

- He has visited that place three times so far.

Regards,

JA

Not so. Where did you get this idea? It's pretty easy to find examples of present perfect and 'so far' in the same sentence. Here are some I found through fraze.it:

This is a referendum on everything this incompetent government has done so far.
