At the beginning of the last thread, you said you could use AS ... TO with non assertive sentences,
I've never been so scared as to scream.
THat's ASSERTIVE right?
So that would mean it's grammatically wrong to say AS TO and hence would say
scared enough that I would scream....
But if you said
Have you ever been so scared as to scream this loud?
Is that ASSERTIVE or NON ASSERTIVE, Would it be more correct to use AS TO if it is a non assertive?
and for the
Are you so arrogant that you would put yourself before the lives of 6 million people? GRAMMATICAL Are you so arrogant as to put yourself ..? GRAMMATICAL Would you be so arrogant as to put yourself..? YOUR PREFERENCE
Would you be so stupid as to do that? GRAMMATICAL Would you be stupid enough that you would do that? IS THIS HOW YOU WOULD SAY IT as at the beginning of the thread you said you use AS TO for non assertive?
In a nutshell, I want to know, even though some might not use it, if it's correct to use AS TO and how to know if it's assertive or non, Are question automatically non assertive?
