So are, So does

Hi, Forum Gurus and members!

Nowadays society is dominated, more than ever, by nuclear families, where I grew up and so are my children.

***********

Intended is, "where I grew up and my children are growing up too".

A. Thus intended, is the sentence correct?

B. How about, "so do my children"? It should be correct, I guess....
