Grammar

so

Dear teachers,

I am doing an exercise with this sentence:

10) The factory let go of many its employees because it had automated so operation.

I don't understand the meaning and grammar function of "SO" here.

Could you please help me clarify this?

Thank you in advance

It makes no sense to me. I suspect a typographical error. It had automated its operation was probably intended.

  • It makes no sense to me.
  • I suspect a typographical error.
  • It had automated its operation was probably intended.
  • You may have done it yourself, since you made an earlier error: The factory let go many of its employees .

Thank you Mister Micawber, but it is the sentence I copied exactly from the "recognize mistakes" exercise . In one sentence there is only one error.
