Context (complete sentence):: Last night, while I was coming back home, I found some friends of mine. They insisted that we go to a coffee shop to chat for a while. They were old friends, so I said 'yes'. I didn't want to snub them.
Does it have sense to you? Is the verb snub okay? I mean that he didn't want to turn his old friends down or frustrate their expectations.
