Snatche of a dialog

- ... May I see it? Your stump. I'd like to see where the amputation was. How high above the bite.
- I'm not showing you my leg.

The questions:

Why has been used the phrase "I'm not showing you my leg" in present progressive tense, but not "I won't show you my leg"?

And how to understand this phrase or many others like this? For example, "I'm not leaving" instead "I won't leave". I don't understand! Please, explain this moment to me Emotion: smile

There are at least five common ways of expressing the future. There can be differences in meaning between them, but a speakers very often has a pretty free choice, and the differences in meaning can be slight. Depending on context, some of the ways can express determination, arrangement, intention, certainty, etc.

The five common ways are:

1. present simple: I show
2.
