Snarling/live favourite

Hi

This song was snarling and cynical. It never became a live favourite, maybe because I don't think this is what our fans come to listen to.

--- Can "snarling" mean "piercing" or "moving"?

--- Does it say that either the band didn't like to perform it live or the fans didn't like to listen to it when they performed live? I'm not sure what he means by: it never became a live favourite.
