Snaps out of it

Is "snaps out of it" natural here? It seems too sudden to me for what I'm going for, so I was wondering if there was something else I could say that might fit better? Thank you.

Monica is sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. She snaps out of it, grabs the remote, and turns off the TV.
