Snap the pawn off the board(chess)

Hi
In:
"With two pieces on b7 and h6 attacking the pawn and only one piece defending it, Black threatens to snap the pawn off the board with ...Nxe4."
May I substitute snap the pawn off the board with
throw the pawn with a sudden movement out of the board?

Thanks in advance!
