sms/text message

Hi!

Could you please tell me which of the following sentences are correct/wrong? Which of these sentences are used in the US and which in the UK?

a. I'll send you an sms when I get there.
b. I'll sms you when I get there.
c. I'll send you a text message when i get there.
d. I'll text message you when I get there.

We call them 'texts' in the uk and also use text as a verb. SMS is the official name but noone uses it in real life here. So we say I'll send you a text when I get there.

So we say

I'll send you a text when I get there.

I'll text you when I get there.

YoHf, youcan believe Nona. SMS is used over here in Germany as well but in English you speak about either

- a text

or

- to text.

If you used "SMS" people would most likely look at you with big round eyes. They might understand what you mean but no one uses it. Ever. (And neither do I when I speak to my English or American friends)
