Is it correct and natural to say "smells like + verb"?
Is it correct to use the continuous tense like in 1 or just the simple tense like in 2 and 3?
1 It smells like someone is cooking.
2 It smells like someone just cooked food.
3 It smells like the dog farted.

Your three examples are fine. They all have a clause after "like".
