The smell reminds me of something I just can’t spot it/finger on it.
I read this online. I think there are mistakes. Are there ? Are the underline bits grammatically wrong or not natural?

Neither. You can't put your finger on it. "Spot it" does not work. "The smell reminds me of something, but I just can’t put my finger on it."
