Slip(s)

Consider the following extract:

"To our frustration,, the flight was delayed because the airplane arrived late at the airport.

We feel upset about this because if we had arrived, even only 5 minutes after the boarding room had closed, they wouldn't have left us board the airplane.

So, we have to tolerate this airliner's slips, but they would never tolerate a traveller's slip."

Does the term 'slip' male sense in this context?

And even if it does, is it the best term? (Could 'mishap' be a suitable word?)

I'd change 'slip(s)' to 'shortcomings' or 'mistakes', and 'tolerate' to 'overlook'.

Would it not be more logical to use the word airline instead?
