A usual sight on the Arts Faculty campus is arts students carrying their stuffs in sling bags slung from their shoulders.

Does last clause "slung from their shoulders" sound awkward? I am also not that confidant about the sentence's construction. Thanks

Actually, I added the word "sling" later after a second thought. And I thought of "common" too, but "usual" sounded good to my ears.

Do you think "common" is more appropriate in this context? You must have a reason for replacing the "usual".
