Barrels of slimy stuff stood on the floor, jars of herbs, dried roots and bright powders lined the walls, bundles of feathers, strings of fangs and snarled claws hung from the ceiling.
Is 'slimy stuff stood' a use of alliteration? If it is, do you think it is deliberate?
Thanks in advance

I would guess that it's an intentional attempt at alliteration, which could be improved with: sticky stuff stood
