it is slightly more difficult for the students ...

how we can use slightly and more together??I mean that there must be a contrast..isn't it?plz give me an explanation with more examples...

dear nona, giving the meaning of slightly didnt resolve my problrm cuz little bit thus has contrast with more ,i am so amazed how possibly 2 contrastive adverb and adjective can come after eachother...plz tell me

Well, if "more" could be rated on a scale from 1 (the minimum) to 10 (the maximum), "slightly more" would rate 1 or 2. If you want to sweeten your café, you can add several lumps of sugar (according to your taste). "A bit more sugar, please" could result in adding half a lump.
