My main intention for the sentence was to express that some force made me sleep and because of that I couldn't attend the meeting. So can I write the sentence like: "I was made to sleep" ? or please give your suggestion.

MuhammedQasim,
That force that you referred to could be the exhibit of one of these mental- physical phenomenons: Anticipation, worry, obsession of something, or intense excitement, like getting on the plane for your first trip to Disney World. I couldn't sleep, just anticipating the first light.
