Slept

Hi!

Here's the story.

I tried to phone my friend, but her mom answered the phone and she told me my friend was already sleeping. I said something which I don't think is right. I said "So he slept early".

Do you think what I said is wrong? Does it imply that my friend is already awake? Was it supposed to be "So he fell asleep early."?

Thanks!Emotion: smile

You could say that he fell asleep early or that he went to bed early. To say "he slept early" is not idiomatic. Note that you say "her mom" but then "he slept" -- so is your friend male or female?
