Slave driver

Hi,



What is the correct expression if you want to ask somebody if his boss/employer make him work very hard? I am not sure if the following ones are correct.



  1. Do they work you really hard?

  2. Is your boss a slave-driver?

To ask someone if their employer/boss makes them work hard, stay away from asking them if their "boss is a slave-driver". That will not come across in a good way at all. Try asking them if their boss is "difficult to get along with" (which will tell of the employer's personality) or if the work is "very tedious or effortless" (the first meaning the work would be hard and the latter meaning the wo
