slanted and slanting

Hi teachers,

They are both adjectives, how to use them. How to discern them?

From the dictionary:

Slanted: Her attic bedroom has slanted ceilings; a slanted floor / roof

Slanting: a slanting table.

Thanks

I suggest that 'slanted' more likely suggests it was planned that way, while 'slanting' more often suggests the slant is accidental. That is the only difference that comes hesitantly to mind.

I think that they are used interchangeably. In my previous post, I tried to think of a trend for you, but I don't really have confidence in it.

In the case of being biased (and not liable to change), slanted works:
His editorials (opinions / views) are slanted toward the political left.
The justice system should not be slanted in favor of the wealthy or of the powerful.

Slanting is used for things that can change, or things in motion.

Hi Mister Micawber, hi ApheccaStars,

Thanks for helping me. In ApheccaStars' Her slanting eyes glowed' sentence, I understand slanting is an adjective, is there a difference here if "slanted' was used.
