skptical...

Hi,

I read 'why we want to be rich by Donald Trump, and Robert Kiyosaki' this morning.

Very interesting book.

I think whoever want to a financial literate, it's a book that must be read.

Well, at least that's what I think.

Ok, let's get to the bottom line:)!!

- Robert was very humble, very modest, even self-effacing. Amazing. I was wondering to myself if that was an act, a role he played for some reason. I can be skeptical sometimes.

It didn't take me long to figure out that Robert was genuine.

1) self-effacing: here 'efface' has a meaning of 'wipe out;destroy' in the dictionary. So I don't understand what it meant here. 'destroying himself'? Doesn't sound right.

2) skptical: probably meaning 'doubting' or 'questioning' whether Robert is fake. But it's different from being cynical, right? Because 'cynical' is more like 'distrusting the motives of others'

3) genuine: meaning 'he is real' not 'fake', to work out its meaning simply:).

One more, "I was a little intimated at first" => I was a little shy(or timid)? shy and timid are the same meaning, right?

Thanks, in advance!!

"efface" = 1. to remove, blur, or completely eliminate, especially by rubbing off or out; 2. to act in an inconspicuous or humble manner, especially because of shyness or modesty. Robert
