Could you please help me with this? I thought "skip off" means kind of quickly disappearing. What does that mean in this picture? Its name is "skipping off into tunnel", and why they haven't used "the" before tunnel.

you know, because the meaning of skip off is to leave suddenly and secretly, and there is tunnel. All evidence add up to conclude that they are going to hide it.

I keep telling you that the phrase sounds like a caption.Minor words are often omitted from a caption. A full sentence would be eg We are skipping off into this tunnel.
