Skip a line

Hi

What would be the most typical expression when a teacher finds a student's handwriting illegible and wants him to leave a line when he writes an essay? How do you find "skip a line"?

1) Next time you write an essay or a story, please make sure to skip a line.

Thanks,

Tom

If he wrote on every line, you couldn't read his writing. So I would ask him to write on every other line. Or skip every other line when he writes.

Hi,

You could also say 'Please double-space your writing'.
