Skimpy hair knot

Hello

I am here again with a question of the lovely story "Listening for Lions" by Gloria Whelan.

"Her hair was pulled back into a skimpy knot."

I cannot exactly imagine what her hair looks like. Whether she has a stiff pony tail or she has pulled two strings of hair from her front sides to the back and made a small knot with them.

Thank you

litmom I cannot exactly imagine what her hair looks like. Neither can I. Maybe she meant "skimpy bun".
