Skiing / Riding Subject

Are these sentences grammatically correct?

1. Skiing and riding has also been extended to May 31 but this is our way of saying "thank-you" for another great year. (With 'has' as the verb, is the subject being referred as one thing?)

2. Skiing and riding have also been extended to May 31 but this is our way of saying "thank-you" for another great year. (With 'have' as the verb, is the subject being referred to separately as 'skiing' and 'riding'?)

Thanks
