In the U.S. we don't express sizes in millimeters. We have standardized sizes like 'size 9', 'size 10', 'size 11', etc.

Thank you for your help, CalifJim. However, actually, I already know that. Here, the reason why I posted this question is to know how to express the size if I have to use another measure unit. Could you tell me how you say it, assuming you are in the countries using the metric system of measurement?

lucas21cI'd like to know how to express the size if I have to use another measure unit.
But you know that a number of millimeters is not a size, right? You don't need the word "size" to ask what you want.

I need shoes that are 280mm long.

I don't know of a country that would have shoes available in any number of millimeters — some 280

Is a number of millimeters not a size? Then, does "The average size of the drum is 65 centimeters in diameter" sound awkward?

Not a standard shoe size, I suspect. You can correct me if I'm wrong and you have all those shoe sizes where you live.
lucas21c... does "The average size of the drum is 65 centimeters in diameter" sound awkward?
No. As I explained above, that's not exactly
