Situational statement

I have tried my best to play the previous game. And someone asked why I played it so hard.

I say : I just wanted to win the game I played.

Someone asked me why did I do that.

I say : I just did what I think is right / I just did what I thought is right. (Both are actually correct but with different meaning, right?)

the first one implies I did what I still think is right.

the second one implies I did what I thought is right, but I do not think it is right anymore presently.

Thanks for clearing my mind.

You can, Avangi, because Oak Street still is south of Elm Street. In the previous poster's case, however, what s/he thought was right is no longer right-- it's wrong.

I just did what I thought is right. ( It is still regarded as correct in present.)

I just did what I thought was right. ( Oppositely, not correct in present.)

I just did what I think is right. <--- This is probably a grammatically wrong answer, right?

By the way, I thought it was wrong to use another past tense directly after another one in a sentene... so I am wrong

I just did what I thought was right. ( Oppositely, not correct in present-- Wrong. It could also still be right now, with regression of the verb.)

I just did what I think is right. <--- This is probably a grammatically wrong answer,right?- No, it's fine. The sp
