Speaking without thought can lead people to think of you differently. You may have been the nicest guy in the county at one time, but speaking first can destroy the image. You may come out looking like a mean and selfish person when you blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. Speaking without thought is a bad idea. It leads to more trouble than it's worth. Taking a few seconds to decide if you should say it could save you a great deal of pain. Words spoken can never be erased. The feeling it causes can ease in time, but it will still be there. It is sitting right under the surface. Reacting too quickly can cause you heartaches that you never imagined.
