Site

What does "site" mean in the sentences:

"When Arthur looked back his eyes deceived him.

The site that he saw, no one else would believe him.

Arthur, confused did not know how to feel"?

Shouldn't it be "sight"? I mean view?

Could you explain the meaning to me?

anonymous Shouldn't it be "sight"? Almost certainly. There is only a very small chance that "site" (= "place") was intended.
