Sit on

1) Can ‘sit on’ be used to describe beer that is a bit heavy?

“This beer is quite strong, it really sits on you.”

2)”Do you know which way the castle is?”

“Do you know which way is the castle?”

I’ve noticed that people use both options. I prefer the first one but I guess that the second one is also common as I’ve heard people use it as well.
