Singular/Plural

Hello, can someone please assist me with this singular/plural issue:

1)Find the sum of the Assessed Property Values that is/are over $100,000. (I think the answer should be "is" - singular?)

2)Find the sum of the Market Property Values for the Assessed Property Values over $100,000. (I think the answer should be "is" - singular?)

It depends on what you are supposed to do. a) There are several property value sums (perhaps one for each street). Find the one that is over $100,000.

Thanks for the reply Blue Jay. I just want to write it in such a way where people can understand that I am asking them to select this one column of data, And from this column, sum up all the values that are over $100,000. I assumed that because I asked for the sum only (singular) that after the preposition of (the Assessed Property Values....) I would use singular "is". Am I correct?

You need are. You are referring to the values, plural, not the sum, singular.
Find the sum of the ...... values that are over $100,000.

For properties where the Assessed Property Value is over $100,000, do you want the sum of the Assessed Property Values or the sum of the Market Property Values?
Or do you want both?

Thank you Blue Jay Emotion: big smile

Hello Clive, I just want the sum of the Market Property Values. Thanks.

That wasn't clear to me in some of what you wrote earlier. Make sure it is clear in your final version.
