Singular 'they', 'their'

Are these becoming acceptable in today's 'writing world'?

Thanks to everybody for 'their' support.

Every employee should bring 'their' laptop to class.

Every employee should know that 'they' can ask questions at any time.

Yes, more acceptable now than 50 years ago. I still don't like it, so I start with the plural form when possible: All employees should bring their laptop(s). Thanks to everybody for your support.

Convert to plurals to be on the 'safe side'.
